Mortal Kombat 1: Ghostface DLC Release Date Announced

The iconic Ghostface killer from the Scream franchise is set to make a spine-chilling debut in Mortal Kombat 1. Players can now prepare for his arrival, as the release date for this highly anticipated DLC character has just been confirmed. The initial announcement of the second wave of guest characters for Mortal Kombat 1 was made at San Diego Comic-Con 2024, with the first round launching alongside the Khaos Reigns expansion in September. That expansion introduced legendary fighters Cyrax, Sektor, and Noob Saibot into Mortal Kombat 1, incorporating them into the game’s fresh storyline.

The Kombat Pack 2 for Mortal Kombat 1 will feature three special guest fighters, following the first pack’s addition of Omni-Man, Homelander, and Peacemaker. First on the list is Ghostface, the masked slasher from Scream, joining a lineup of iconic horror villains who have entered the Mortal Kombat universe over the years. Shortly before Khaos Reigns launched, fans got a taste of Ghostface’s brutal Fatality, a cinematic nod to the Scream franchise with two Ghostface killers inflicting maximum horror on their victim.

The newly released teaser trailer for Ghostface’s addition gives a glimpse of what’s to come. In the trailer, the familiar voice of Roger L. Jackson asks, “Do you like scary movies?” before Ghostface menacingly approaches Johnny Cage. The trailer also showcases various alternate masks that players can equip, and confirms two release dates: November 19 for those with Kombat Pack 2 early access, and November 26 for all players.
