If you are looking for an indoor experience, you can stroll through the 5600-square-foot English mansion to experience a day in the life of the mansion’s former owner, Chandor, before he passed away.

Take a stroll along the nation’s longest floating boardwalk and marvel at the beautiful scenery and lily pads all around you. The Boardwalk is just under a mile one way and is an easy flat walk. It is actually a park, so bring a picnic basket to one of the picnic tables or consider renting The Boardwalk Pavilion for $20 per hour if you have a large group. Regardless, this is a lovely place to observe nature and birds.

I don’t know about you, but I do not function without coffee and one of my favorite things is to find unique coffee shops in the destinations I visit. Everything is part of the experience! The Full Cup Bookstore and Coffee Shop were interesting locations that were so much fun to explore! The walls of the coffee shop are lined with books for sale, and the ceiling is covered with vintage book pages! The Full Cup has a homey atmosphere that will make you feel like a local. I was also impressed because of the extensive list of coffee flavors. Due to the peach town, I chose a latte with peach and brown sugar! Not bad!

Well, you can see this mint-condition (but vintage) cars at the Weatherford Vintage car museum. Why is this museum so extraordinary? When I drive, I’m able to observe a variety of vehicles, correct? Wrong!

You may have seen a Porsche or Ferrari on the road (which is still an incredible sight), but this mind-boggling museum goes back much further.

In fact, you will be able to view notable automobiles belonging to former presidents, such as the 1964 Lincoln Continental Convertible, as well as some of Moncrief’s automobiles. Float like a Cadillac and bite like a laser!

8. Splash Landing Wild West

The Splash Kingdom, a Wild West-themed water park located in Weatherford, is a great place to have some fun. All of the water activities, slides, and attractions boast names such as Gold Rush Falls, Snake Pit, and Wagon Trail Springs. Watch your children play in Gold Rush Falls, a children’s play area designed to resemble an abandoned gold mine, while you enjoy the lazy river, one of the four water slides, or the wave pool. In 1983, the two opened their restaurant serving Mexican cuisine in Fort Worth. After relocating to its current location at the Northbrook Golf Club in Weatherford, it has become a popular old-fashioned Mexican restaurant, with customers lining up outside the door for a more contemporary dining experience.

Toasted meat tacos, chile con carne tamales, and avocado enchiladas are some of the finest appetizers. The menu is laden with meaty, cheesy, and chili flavors from the plate-spanning platters served at dinner.

For both enchiladas and chalupas, you have the option between corn tortillas and crisp fried shells. One of my favorite places at the Weatherford Downtown Square was Twisted Snifter, a boutique liquor shop. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the store’s wines and liquors. We purchased a Syrah, a lavender wine, and a glass of Georgian wine in a clay bottle, all of which are uncommon and difficult to locate. The lavender wine was a standout because I had never heard of it before (and it was surprisingly good for a sweet wine)! Weekends also feature tastings and cocktail classes. Twisted Snifter is a must-visit destination for anyone looking for a great gift or wine.

The Parker County Peach Festival offers succulent peaches, as life is a peach. The festival in Weatherford, Texas is packed with exciting activities for children and adults. 16. Best Lunch Places in Weatherford TX

Everything on the menu is very good, but I recommend the burger (and maybe a margarita!). They change their burgers regularly, and when I went there, I had their veggie burger (black bean burger instead of the usual patty), which came with spinach, hummus, and avocado! Yum!

After that, you can take a tour of three buildings containing vintage automobiles, including automobiles driven by Aretha Franklin, automobiles featured in films such as Titanic, and automobiles driven by our President. The Buddy Scooter is my preferred mode of transportation, but I had so much fun here!

One of Texas’s oldest open-air markets, First Monday Trade Days offers everything under the sun. If you’re looking for a specific antique, you’ll likely find it at the market, or something very similar. Many vendors return each month to sell their wares, and believe it or not, the market is still growing.

This is a perfect attraction for the entire family to enjoy as there’s something for everyone here. Plan to spend the whole day here — there’s a lot to see! Consequently, the weekend preceding the first Monday of each month is chaotic in Weatherford. Open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. throughout the year.

Everyone must visit the Museum of the Americas, despite its unassuming exterior. This three-room museum has artifacts from Native Americans, South Americans, and North Americans. I’m always excited to learn about those who originally inhabited the North American land and to find this in a small town was surprising but beautiful. The owner has conducted extensive research, as evidenced by their extensive library.

The second area includes a bison skeleton as well as the history of the bison and the third gallery includes the permanent exhibit “Settling the Frontier”.
