In 1939, the Concord City Aldermen and the Coltrane-Harris Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy opened the Concord Museum as a public museum and a place to store items.

The Mustang Owner’s Museum

The Mustang Owner’s Museum is all about the Mustang car and anything else that has to do with it. The museum was made to honor the popular and well-known car that has been made in the United States for more than 50 years and to keep the car’s history alive. The museum has a lot of different exhibits, including one about Mustang racing and the part the car played in the New York World’s Fair in 1964. The Bost Grist Mill was built in the early 1800s on the banks of the Rocky River. It used to be the main place where people in southern Cabarrus County got their cornmeal and flour. The mill has been beautifully brought back to its former glory so that people can learn about the history of the area and how the mill helped the community grow. The mill, which is on the National Register of Historic Places, still uses the same stones and methods from the 1800s to grind corn into meals and grits. It is also the town’s main market. Craft beers like Boll Weevil Brown, Cabarrus Cotton Blonde Ale, Mule Spinner Stout, Red Hill Amber Ale, and Reed’s Gold Ale are made by the Cabarrus Brewing Company. The Cabarrus Brewing Company’s taproom is open every weeknight for drinks and dinner, and on the weekends for brunch, lunch, and dinner.

Charlotte Motor Speedway, Concord, North Carolina

The Charlotte Motor Speedway, which used to be called the Lowe’s Motor Speedway, is a motorsports complex in North Carolina that is only 13 miles from Charlotte. NASCAR races are held on a 1.5-mile quad-oval track at the 2,000-acre complex. Big races like the NASCAR All-Star Race, the Bank of America ROVAL 400, and the prestigious Coca-Cola 600, which takes place every Memorial Day weekend, are held there. The Frank Liske Park is a community park and public space where people can do a variety of fun things, such as boating, fishing, picnicking, and playing mini-golf. This beautiful 238-acre park is in the middle of Cabarrus County. It used to be a working farm for the Stonewall Jackson Training School. Some of the buildings, like the dairy barn and silo, have been fixed up for the public to enjoy. The barn can be rented out for parties and events. The park also has a 10-acre lake for paddle-boating and fishing, picnic sites with covered areas, children’s playgrounds, horseshoe pits, lighted tennis courts, and volleyball courts. A soccer and softball complex with lit fields, a nature trail, several walking and hiking trails, and an 18-hole mini-golf course is also available for recreation.

What Should I do If I Have More Time in Concord?

If you have more time in Concord, you may want to visit the Sixteen Tracts Museum, the Davidson Museum of American Art, or the Davidson Historical Library.

Concord is a small town with a lot to offer visitors on a budget. The Sixteen Tracts Museum is a great place to start your visit. It features exhibits on the history of New Hampshire’s 16 counties, and the museum is open from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm every day. The Davidson Museum of American Art is also worth checking out if you have more time in Concord.
