The tours are offered daily during the summer and on selected weekdays during the winter. The lighthouse is also accessible by boat.

The lighthouse can be reached via Hatteras Inlet Road or via Wright Brothers State Park.

The John H Kerr House is one of the most impressive houses in New Bern. Built-in 1778 by one of the city’s early leaders, it features stately white columns on its front porch and an elegant Greek Revival style inside. The house is now part of the New Bern Museum of History and contains exhibits on local history as well as artworks from locally-owned galleries.
